The family of late singer-songwriter Aaron Carter have said they want his estate to go to his one-year-old son, Prince, in the wake of his death.
Carter was found dead at the age of 34 in his home in California on 5 November, with his cause of death still yet to be determined.
He is survived by his only son, who he welcomed with his former fiancée Melanie Martin in November 2021, as well as his mum, Jane Carter, and siblings Virginia, Bobbie Jean, Kaden and Nick Carter - known for being one of the singers of the Backstreet Boys.

It's been reported that Carter did not write a will prior to his death, meaning it will be up to the State of California to decide who inherits his estate.
Carter's mum, Jane, has assured the matter of the inheritance will not turn into a nasty legal situation, telling TMZ that the family's wish is to have everything in his estate go to Prince.
The singer's estate has reportedly been valued in probate documents at $550,000, and includes real estate and personal property.

Jane has expressed belief that Carter would have wanted everything to go to his son, and said the family want to make sure the young boy is taken care of as he gets older.
The mum revealed she and Carter's siblings still haven't met Prince as he is still in the custody of Martin, though she made clear the family doesn't need the money from Carter's estate and said they would really like to have a relationship with both Prince and Martin.
The feeling seems to be mutual, with Martin having told Us Weekly she didn't want any 'bad blood' with Carter's family.

She made clear her biggest concern was taking care of their son, saying: "I don’t want any problems or stress over Aaron’s estate. I just want Prince to be taken care of and want Aaron’s legacy to live on.
"I don’t want any bad blood with Aaron’s family. Whoever wants to be in Prince’s life can be in Prince’s life.”
Martin said days after Carter's death that she'd been hoping to have a future with the singer, including getting married and 'having more children with him'.
Carter's mum's comments come after his twin sister, Angel, filed a petition last week to serve as administrator of his estate.

Jane has claimed that she asked Angel to take on the role.
