Pope Leo has previously provided a terrifying warning about what the future has in store for artificial intelligence (AI) as he called for 'for workers’ rights' to be protected.
As technology pushes new boundaries, the presence of AI in our everyday lives continues to be debated.
While some people are excited about what the future may hold for AI, a lot of nerves surround whether it could ultimately push a lot of people out of a job.

Many famous figures have spoken about AI; both Stephen Hawking and Bill Gates have shared warnings regarding it, meanwhile, people like Elon Musk are already using it within their businesses.
The recently installed Pope Loe has previously spoken about AI, and it's safe to say he's not a fan.

Chicago-born Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost was welcomed into his new post on May 8, opting to go by the name Pope Leo XIV.

During his opening few weeks as the leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Leo called for a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, as well as an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, with the release of hostages and delivery of humanitarian aid, while welcoming the ceasefire agreement reached between India and Pakistan.
The pope has also argued the Church should be standing up for workers' rights as he said: "In our own day, the Church offers everyone the treasury of its social teaching in response to another industrial revolution and to developments in the field of artificial intelligence that pose new challenges for the defense of human dignity, justice, and labor."

Pope Leo has previously said he chose his name from Pope Leo XIII, who wrote an open letter to all Catholics in 1891 to discuss the impact the Industrial Revolution had on the lives of workers.

The current pope spoke earlier this month about the similarity this had with AI.
He said: "In our own day, the church offers everyone the treasury of its social teaching in response to another industrial revolution and to developments in the field of artificial intelligence that pose new challenges for the defence of human dignity, justice and labour."
"It has been clearly seen in the example of so many of my predecessors, and most recently by Pope Francis himself, with his example of complete dedication to service and to sober simplicity of life, his abandonment to God throughout his ministry and his serene trust at the moment of his return to the Father’s house."
