Thief pretends to be bag of trash to steal package off doorstep

That's one crafty parcel pirate

There are some pretty weird ways to conduct criminal activity, but I bet you’ve never seen someone try as hard as this perpetrator in Sacramento, California.

If you ever see a trash bag moving around on its own, don’t worry! It’s just your not-so-friendly neighborhood thief doing the rounds.

One person got a shock to their system when looking at their home CCTV footage to find a mysterious trash bag was tip toeing over to their front door.

The person-bag hybrid was then caught stealing a package from outside of their home.

Omar Gabriel Munoz captured the door camera footage of someone crouched down underneath a black garbage bag and snatching away the parcel on March 29.

Munoz then told Storyful that he only checked his camera when he got a notification that his package had been delivered and was confused that it wasn’t there when he returned home from work.

The man went on to explain that thought the wind could have blown the parcel away somewhere, but after checking the door camera footage, he soon found out that it had been taken by a cheeky porch thief in broad daylight.

Obviously, the video footage gained a lot of popularity once it was broadcasted and many were enraged that someone could steal from another person without a thought.

One person wrote on Facebook: “A low life at work. When life values are lost just a creative mind being used in wrong direction. Everyone has a conscience some day these choices will catch up to this stupidity.”

Someone else said: “My god, if you’re that creative then go find a real job and work for the things you want. Stop taking things that aren’t yours.”

Another person couldn’t understand how people can do this to one another: “Wow!! The extremes people are putting themselves thru to take possession of someone else’s property.”

Someone else was annoyed that they didn’t use this type of energy to go to work instead: “Meanwhile, the rest of us went to work to earn money to BUY things. Like adults do.”

Another was furious on Munoz’s behalf: “What is wrong with these loser low lives! Freaking disgrace. How do these people sleep at night.”

However, some actually thought the whole thing was fake.

Someone pointed out: “I think it is fake. There's a person watching at the door and the person in the bag looks like a child. Check out the small feet and sandals.”

A second echoed: “Obviously staged.”

I guess we’ll never know unless the garbage-wearing parcel pirate is never held accountable.

Otherwise, we’ll assume it was true events and that Mr Munoz’s parcel was the victim of a very crafty little trash person.
