A teenager who disappeared while on a cruise ship has been found in Germany.

14-year-old Aydin Brown, of Texas, vanished from the Caribbean Princess Cruise ship when it docked in Rostock-Warnemünde, a couple hours north of Berlin, on Thursday morning (July 4).

The 12-day cruise travelled across the Baltic sea, starting in Southampton, England, before visiting ports in Denmark, Sweden, Germany and more countries, before returning to the English city on July 12.

Fortunately, it was reported yesterday (July 6) that he had been found.

Speaking to NBC News Saturday, the cruise line said: “We are delighted that Aydin Brown has been found safe and sound.

Aydin was reported as having been last seen at 7am, and police sent out photos of Brown - which included those from a security camera where he was seen talking to an unidentified man.

In a statement, police said that the two of them had been spotted walking to Warnemünde church square at around 7:45am local time on the day Aydin went missing.

Rostock Police said: "Who knows the unknown young man or can provide information about his whereabouts?

"Who saw the missing man at around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday morning together with the as yet unknown man at the train station in Warnemünde?"

Princess Cruises also said at the time: “We understand the distress this situation has caused and will continue to provide ongoing on-site support to the family during this challenging time.

"We are actively collaborating with German law enforcement on a missing person’s case involving a 14-year-old young man who disembarked from the Caribbean Princess in Warnemunde on Thursday morning without an escort."

Aydin's mom was flown into Germany by Princess Cruises, and his grandmother left the ship on Thursday night.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to German authorities for their swift response and exceptional efforts in locating Aydin after he disembarked in Warnemunde last Thursday morning.”

His family also speculated that the teenager had been 'lured away', with one of his cousin's taking to social media to write: "My worst nightmare continues to unroll. Aydin remains missing. It appears once he left the ship in Warnemunde, Germany, he may have been lured away."

While another cousin said: "My cousin Anne took her grandson Aydin on a special European cruise! (Just the two of them) He got off the ship in Germany and went missing about 24 hours ago!"
