Renee Good's family has released some of the results of an independent autopsy report after launching a private investigation into her death.

On January 7, Renee Nicole Good was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The 37-year-old had just dropped her six-year-old off at school and was inside the car with her wife Becca Good.

As they drove back home, they spotted a group of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and stopped to 'observe, with the intention of supporting and helping their neighbors,' Romanucci and Blandin law firm - who now represent Good's family - told People.

Good ended up being fatally shot by ICE agent Jonathan Ross. A report conducted by Minneapolis Police and Fire Department revealed the mom-of-three was shot twice in the chest, once in the forearm and queried another possible gunshot wound to the head.

Hiring the same law firm which represented George Floyd's family, Good's loved ones have since conducted an independent autopsy report alongside launching a private investigation into her killing.

Romanucci and Blandin has since released its preliminary findings at the family's request, detailing the need for 'continued transparency with the public on this tragedy'.

The pathologist's report, as seen by People, identified three clear gunshot wound paths. One bullet struck Good's left forearm, another her right breast and the third gunshot struck the left side of her head.

The first bullet resulted in soft tissue hemorrhage, the second missed any vital organs - neither immediately life-threatening - but it was the third which proved fatal, entering the left side of Good's head before exiting via the right.

A fourth wound was also discovered and identified as a firearm injury, however, it was labelled a graze wound opposed to a penetrative wound.

The report confirms Good was discovered unresponsive in her car at around 9.42am local time.

Lead attorney Antonio M. Romanucci explained the evidence the firm is gathering 'and will continue to gather' will help 'prove [their] case'.

He added: "The video evidence depicting the events of January 7, 2026, is clear, particularly when viewed through the standards of reasonable policing and totality of circumstances. Additionally, our legal team will continue its unwavering and proactive advocacy for Renee’s life and her family."

As further details surrounding Good's killing continue to emerge, her family has stressed the importance of not losing sight of what truly matters.

In a statement to The Guardian, Good's sister-in-law Jess Fletcher emphasized: "There’s been so much hateful rhetoric back and forth, and what’s been missed is painting a picture of who Renee was."
