Disgusting video shows inside of plane that had to land early after passenger had bad diarrhea

When you've gotta go, you've gotta go

A huge clean-up operation was launched when a passenger was caught short on a flight recently.

The fecal faux-pas occurred on a Delta Airlines flight from Atlanta to Barcelona, leading to the plane having to turn back around.

Passengers were two hours into their eight-hour journey when a pretty foul odour began making its way through the cabin.

It quickly became evident that the smell was coming from one very unfortunate traveller, who found themselves in a spot of bother during the flight.

According to reports, the passenger in question suffered a sudden bout of diarrhea, and despite their best efforts to make it to the toilet, they were too late.

Instead, they evacuated their bowels very much while they were in transit, with s**t trickling out of their pants and down the aisle.

No doubt, much to the delight of their fellow passengers.

A live recording from the pilot explaining what had happened to ground control was captured by LiveATC.com.

“This is a biohazard issue,” the pilot said.

“We’ve had a passenger who’s had diarrhoea all the way through the airplane, so they want us to come back to Atlanta.”

And now, if that wasn't already TMI, there's more.

Footage of the aftermath has been shared on social media, appearing to show the clean-up operation by the cabin crew.

In the short clip, paper towels can be seen placed along the aisle in a desperate attempt to soak up some of the feculence.

Commenting on the post, the brother of the passenger who appears to have captured the video said he found it very, very funny indeed.

The cabin crew immediately got to work to clear the mess up.

"Haven’t laughed harder than his phone call to me at midnight to explain why he was still in America," they wrote.

"He said it was the funniest thing he’s ever experienced."

Not everyone saw the funny side, however.

Those who were actually on the plane at the time have since shared their thoughts on the experience.

Writing on Twitter, one person claimed it was truly awful, though they praised staff for getting their hands dirty and clearing it up.

They said: "My partner was on that flight! It was pretty bad. It was dribbled down the aisle, smelled horrible.

"The vanilla scented disinfectant used on it only made it smell like vanilla s**t.

"After the plane landed, it was thoroughly cleaned. They didn’t leave until around 2:30 am."
