A 17-year-old girl who had dealt with cancer twice is among three people who have died in a tragic car crash in Kansas.
Kansas City Police Department identified Aria Mia Gonzalez as one of the women in the car when it was involved in a collision at about 1am local time on 1 October.
The incident took place along Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard, where Aria was travelling with friends, Ashanti Hill and Aniyah Lewis, who were both 19.

Police said Ashanti was in the drivers' seat of the black Ford Taurus, travelling north along the boulevard when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree near East 45th Terrace.
The crash took place just four years after Aria was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcom; a type of bone or soft tissue cancer which primarily occurs in children and young adults.
She went into remission and went on to get pregnant with a little girl, but when she was 30 weeks pregnant, she learned that the cancer had come back.
A tribute to Aria has been written on a GoFundMe page by her cousin Ariella Camaraza, who referred to the 17-year-old by the name Mia.

"She gave birth to her daughter and had to go through the challenges of being a young mom and battling cancer again," the tribute said.
The grieving family member described Aria as a 'beloved family member/friend who brought immense joy to those around her', and who had overcome 'so many tough obstacles'.
"In the wake of this devastating loss, we are coming together to support Mia's mother Ada Camaraza during this incredibly challenging time," the GoFundMe explained.

"She leaves behind a young child Se’vyn Sayori Gonzalez. We aim to provide financial assistance to cover memorial expenses and alleviate the immediate financial burdens faced by the family."
Funds raised through the GoFundMe will go towards creating a 'meaningful memorial' to celebrate Aria, as well as towards the 'well-being and upbringing of baby Se’vyn'.
"Your generosity will make a significant impact on helping this family navigate through the difficult days ahead," the description on the page continued.

"Any contribution, no matter the size, is deeply appreciated and will go directly to supporting Mia's family during this challenging time.
"Thank you for your compassion, support, and keeping Mia and her family in your thoughts and prayers."
A goal of $5,000 has been set for the fundraiser, which has so far just over $1,600.
