Someone who ordered a pizza had quite the surprise after a delivery driver asked for a tip before they handed over the food.

A clip of the interaction has gone viral online after the delivery driver's forward request before handing over a Domino's Pizza - with some others slamming the home owner's 'insane' response.

Check out the very awkward exchange below:

The debate around tipping culture is one of the fiercest out there, with new footage of tense interactions between delivery drivers and customers popping up on TikTok every week.

There's this Uber Eats driver who refuses to deliver any orders that aren't tipping,

Then there's this driver who refused to hand over a $400 food order after the customer wouldn't pay a gratuity.

And now an incredibly exchange between a hungry pizza-lover and a driver from 2022 has resurfaced.

She asked for a tip before handing over the food.

In the video, the driver asked for a tip immediately.

When the home owner says no, they point out that the customer had a car they could use to fetch the pizza if they didn't want to tip.

But the customer was not impressed, saying that she chose home delivery because it was more convenient.

She then told the driver to 'have a nice day', but didn't leave a tip.

The frustrated driver then proceeds to tell the customer that she should 'come get it next time', before walking off.

The clip above - uploaded by @user626366461 - has now gone viral on TikTok and the fiery exchange has divided TikTokers, with responses consisting of arguments for both sides.

One person thought: "Lol, you’re cheap!! Lmao! Who doesn’t tip?!?" while another added: "No tip…? I could never."

Someone else agreed: "Yeah sorry I’m on driver's side on this one.

However, one person argued: "If someone asks for a tip before the food is even passed over they ain't getting s**t, especially when they are talking about me having a car."

The driver told them to 'come get it next time'.

A second viewer said: "If someone literally said 'tip?' to me before I had the chance to even reach in my pocket and grab it, I simply wouldn’t give it to her anymore."

"How are you asking for a tip before the pizza is even in her hands?" someone else questioned.

Another person joked: "After that, I'd order everyday just to make her drive for no tip."

On the Domino's website, it says: "Tips are a big deal to our drivers, so thank you.

"We'll make sure your actual driver gets your actual tip. And, we'll see you again soon."
