A notorious death row inmate chose to give a shoutout to Donald Trump in his final words, and hinted at a very dark secret.

Glen Rogers, who described himself as a 'serial killer', sat on death row for almost three decades before he was executed by the state of Florida on Thursday (May 15).

The 62-year-old died by lethal injection at Florida State Prison near Starke, and was declared dead at 6.16pm, according to authorities.

Rogers was convicted after murdering two moms in separate incidents in 1995 just weeks apart; mom-of-two Tina Marie Cribbs, 34, and mom-of-three Sandra Gallagher, 33.

However, it is alleged he told cops that he murdered around 70 people throughout his life.

Why was Glen Rogers nicknamed the 'Casanova killer'?

The killer gained notoriety, not only for his heinous crimes but also for his unusual nickname as a 'Casanova' - someone who is known for seducing women and having many love interests.

Rogers was given the moniker due to his good looks, sporting long blonde hair, and his knack for picking up women in bars before going on to brutally attack them.

What were Glen Rogers' crimes and how was he found?

A jury sentenced Rogers to death in 1997, finding him guilty of first-degree murder, armed robbery, and grand theft of a motor vehicle, relating to Cribbs.

He had met the mom in a bar in Tampa and convinced her to drive him home, after which he stabbed her to death.

Her lifeless body was found days later in the bathtub of a Tampa motel room.

Police noted her car was missing from the scene and managed to apprehend Rogers following a highway chase in Kentucky while he was driving her stolen vehicle.

He then received another death sentence in California in 1999 for the strangulation of Gallagher, whom he had also met at a bar in Van Nuys.

After their meeting, her body was found badly burned near Rogers' apartment.

The authorities suspected Rogers committed several more heinous crimes in his life, murdering at least five people across California, Mississippi, Florida, Ohio, and Louisiana.

In a 2012 documentary, My Brother the Serial Killer, his brother Clay claimed Rogers was also responsible for the 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson, O.J. Simpson's ex-wife and her friend, Ron Goldman, though the Los Angeles Police Department dismissed the claim, according to Fox News.

What were Glen Rogers' last words?

Rogers chose pizza, chocolate cake, and a soda for his final meal, according to Daily Star, and his last words had a chilling effect on those present at his execution.

Moments before he was administered the lethal injection, Rogers gave an unsettling shout out to the President as an odd choice for his final words.

He said: "President Trump, keep making America great.

"I’m ready to go," he added.

He also thanked his wife, who had visited him earlier that day in prison.

However, he also hinted at a dark secret before tipping his hat to the POTUS, saying: "In the near future, your questions will be answered."

How many executions have taken place so far in Florida this year?

According to reports, Rogers is the 16th person in the US to be executed - and the fifth person in just Florida alone this year.

There were six executions in the state in 2023, but only one in 2024.

The Associated Press reports that the state is continuing to ramp up executions with another convicted killer set to die on June 10.

Republican Governor Ron DeSantis recently signed a death warrant for Anthony Wainwright, 54, who was found guilty of the kidnap, rape and murder of Carmen Gayheart in 1994.

Gayheart had been abducted from a grocery store parking lot in Lake City, Florida, by Wainwright, AP reports.

Prior to his execution, Rogers' attorneys filed several appeals across state and federal courts, all of which were unsuccessful.

They claimed he shouldn't be executed based on laws that permit the death penalty for trafficked young children, citing that Rogers was a victim of child abuse and ought to receive a life sentence instead.

However, such arguments were dismissed.
