Landlord's petty reason for eviction exposed after man booted from home for having 'hermit vibes’

It's not me, it's you.

An Aussie renter has been kicked out of their property by a nit-picky landlord who describes they don’t fit the vibes of the house.

Geez, in the age of the rental crisis, landlords are absolutely TRYING it now, and this tenant not passing the vibe check is the latest example.

The Victorian tenant shared the savage letter to the Facebook group Don’t Rent Me, which showed they had been requested to vacate as their six-month lease would not be extended.

“[I] moved in with these two people in March on a six-month lease. I work two jobs, one during the day and one night into early morning,” they explained to the Don’t Rent Me Facebook group.

“The people I live with both study full time and take every chance they can get to complain about my ‘secluded’ and ‘hermit’ vibe - which is me either being asleep or out with my friends.”

“Speaking personally, you seem like a great person, however, it is both the opinion of myself and of the other tenant(s) that you do not fit the desired and advertised housemate role,” the letter read.

“I wanted housemates that I could form a friendship with, and due to your work schedule and personal demeanour, this seems like something that will never happen.”

IDK about you, but this is sounding more like a breakup letter - it's giving it's not 'you' it's 'me' vibes.

The housemate, whose parents own the rental property - yes, deep breathes - then detailed that the tenant's cleanliness wasn’t up to par as well as the ‘noise levels at night’ which had ‘unfortunately created an unhealthy atmosphere within the property and has created a divide between tenants’.

They added that they are more than happy to provide a ‘glowing recommendation’ for their next rental application; however, they suggested that a ‘quieter and secluded vibe’ would suit the tenant much better.

“As I am bad with words, and will most likely misspeak in person, I truly hope you do not take this personally. I mean for no ill-will, and as such, I am more than happy to accommodate and help with the move in any way that I (as your ‘landlord’) can,” they concluded.

Many Facebook users were left outraged, as one person wrote: “Fake ‘vibe’ eviction reason. I reckon someone else is willing to pay higher rent so they are kicking this person out.”

Another said: “Wrong vibe ??? Ending up on the street with nowhere to turn..”

While a third shared: “My son's housemate asked him to leave because he wasn't vegan enough.”
