Paige Spiranac says she got 'shadow banned' on TikTok because of 'the girls'

The 'OG Insta golf girl' claims her content has been limited and she just wants to 'get it'

A golf influencer claims she got ‘shadow banned’ on TikTok because of ‘the girls’.

And she’s not referring to having misbehaving gal pals in videos or actual girls commenting on her videos either.

Paige Spiranac is one of the most followed influencers in the sport, with a mega 1.5million followers on TikTok alone.

The 30-year-old has nearly four million on Instagram, where she posts stunning snaps in her tight and short outfits on the golf course, as well as the clips of her impressive swing.

Titling herself as the ‘OG Insta golf girl’, she shared a TikTok last week with the caption: “No one is able to see my videos these days. Anyone else struggling with this?”

The former professional golfer turned instructor and social media star explains in the clip: “So I was told that all of my content is shadow banned because of the girls.”

In selfie mode, Spiranac then briefly tilts the camera further towards her breasts as she sits in a pair of bikini bottoms and a low-cut top.

She continues: “And I don’t get it because when I’m scrolling through the For You page, I have girls in bikinis dancing to One Margarita and I’m like, ‘Yes girl, get it!’

“But I also wanna get it.”

Shadow banning is the unofficial name for when TikTok restricts an account’s visibility without notification.

It happens unknowingly and basically means content is shown to far fewer people, regardless of follower count. And it isn’t necessarily the muting of an account, but can even mean its temporarily completely blocked.

This usually happens if an account is thought to be violating the platform’s Community Guidelines.

Spiranac also writes in the video: “Make the guidelines make sense.”

TikTok’s community guidelines include removing violative content, age-restricting mature content, maintaining For You feed eligibility standards and empowering its community.

It’s also important to note that TikTok doesn’t officially admit to shadow banning being an actual thing.

Users commented on Spiranac’s account to say they think its due to so many ‘fake pages’ imitating her account.

Other TikToks by the American show her in a mini white golf skirt, crop top and visor as she takes her followers to ‘play a hole with me’.

Talking her fans through her technique, fans say she ‘smoked it’.

With 9.7million likes across her videos, she often hits well over 100,000 views on TikTok.
