A professional golfer has explained her reaction after a man who's 'played for 20 years' attempted to offer her advice.

Georgia Ball, from the UK, is a PGA professional golfer who also offers coaching to other people.

Considering she's reached professional status, it's safe to say she knows what she's doing with a club, so it's no surprise she was left confused when a man approached her and offered to give her some unsolicited advice.

The encounter went down at a driving range, where the stranger approached Georgia and boldly claimed she was golfing incorrectly.

Georgia tried to explain she was just trying out a new style of swing, but the man continued his confident approach as he told her he'd been 'playing golf for 20 years'.

Georgia, who had been filming herself when the man approached her, shared the clip online and quickly caught the attention of internet users.

Viewers criticized the man for 'mansplaining' golf to the pro, while others praise Georgia for her calm, polite reaction and her impressive 'levels of class and restraint'.

Georgia later spoke about the situation to LADbible, saying: "To be honest the entire experience has been overwhelming - but in a very good way of course!"

She went on to explain that she typically doesn't mind people coming up to give her advice, saying: "At the time during the conversation with him I was totally open to any advice and taking any feedback on board - as I am with anyone, pro golfer or not."

However, she pinpointed the moment the man began to irritate her as she continued: "It was when he wouldn't let me speak or let me properly explain what I was doing with my swing change, I just thought it was best to get back to my practice session.

"In the moment I honestly didn't know what to say and was quite shocked but now I can look back and see the funny side as many people have online and around the world."

Georgia went on to note that '99 percent' of her interactions with other golfers are 'super positive, supportive and fantastic'.

"Everyone in this sport is here to help each other and grow the sport which is something I'm massively passionate about," she said.

"This was the first time an interaction like this to this extent has happened and I think that's why I was so taken aback in the moment."

Georgia is still offering advice of her own to other golfers, which you can find on her social media platforms and her website.
