A Russian state TV presenter has threatened to attack ‘Boorish Britain’ with Putin’s new 16,000mph nuclear weapon.

Nicknamed ‘Satan 2’, the RS-28 Sarmat missile has the potential to obliterate an area the size of the UK in just a single strike.

Keen to send a warning to Britain, pro-Putin TV anchor Vladimir Solovyov threatened to send the missile in the UK’s direction if it continues to militarily support Ukraine.

“As it turned out, one Sarmat means minus one Great Britain,” Solovyov said, before describing Britain as ‘totally boorish’ in its continued support for Ukraine.

Head of the Russian space agency Dmitry Rogozin, another close ally of Putin, told Solovyov that Russia ‘will have 46 combat complexes of strategic weapon Sarmat’.

"Everything is according to plan with us," he said, The Sun reports.

Putin described the development of the new missile as ‘a big, significant event’ for Russia’s military, saying the projectile will ‘force those who try to threaten Russia to think twice’.

Putin continued: "The missile can break through all modern anti-missile defences. There is nothing like this anywhere in the world, and won't be for a long time."

Last week, Russia released a video of the missile being successfully test-launched from an underground silo. The 115-foot rocket can fly more than 11,000 miles and carry 15 warheads.

During the test launch, it travelled almost the entire length of Russia in around 15 minutes, with Putin hailing its success.

The bombs are said to be 1,000 times more powerful than those dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan by the US during World War Two.

The news comes as Russia's foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, warned of the ever-increasing threat of nuclear world war. He said the world is now in 'real' danger as NATO weapons are 'legitimate' targets in Ukraine.

Britain has joined the long list of NATO member states supporting Ukraine militarily, such as with anti-tank weapons and anti-air missiles.

In light of this, Maria Zakharova, Russia’s foreign ministry spokesperson, accused NATO states of ‘pouring oil on the fire’ after ‘pumping weapons into Ukraine’, iNews reports.

She said: "Do we understand correctly that for the sake of disrupting the logistics of military supplies, Russia can strike military targets on the territory of those NATO countries that supply arms to the Kyiv regime?"

"After all, this directly leads to deaths and bloodshed on Ukrainian territory. As far as I understand, Britain is one of those countries.”
