Police have been left wondering if they've got a potential murder mystery on their hands after a decades-old car was found buried in the back yard of a Silicon Valley mansion.
To make matters weirder, the car, which police reckon was buried underground at some time during the 1990s, was filled with bags of concrete.
The mysterious vehicle was discovered by landscapers who were digging up the garden of the $15m property in Silicon Valley, California, as part of a project.

Discovering that, for some as yet unknown reason, there was an entire car buried beneath the earth, the homeowners called the police to report the suspicious findings - which seems like a pretty sensible thing to do when you discover a car from the '90s hidden underground with a load of concrete inside.
It does beg the question of who put it there and why, and obviously it certainly sets a lot of alarm bells ringing.
Police released a statement explaining that when officers showed up with sniffer dogs, their canine companions found a 'slight notification of possible human remains', meaning they might have a murder mystery on their hands.

They got in contact with the San Mateo crime lab and technicians have been sent to the site to try and dig the car out of the ground without disturbing what could turn out to be a crime scene.
Since the cadaver sniffer dogs found traces of a scent, it's worth investigating to see if there is some foul, nefarious story behind the submerged car.
The vehicle has been there since before the current homeowners moved into the property and it was buried about four to five feet beneath the ground.
If all turns out well then the homeowners might have just scored themselves a few free bags of concrete.
When it comes to murder mysteries, the truth can come out in all sorts of different ways, like that one case where a pet duck led police to a dead body.

There was even talk of giving a medal to the duck for its intrepid efforts in quacking the case.
As for the concrete-laden car buried beneath the ground, right now there have been no human remains found.
Let's hope it stays that way as the investigation is ongoing, while police have confirmed the current homeowners are not under investigation.
