OnlyFans star Coconut Kitty has died

She died on Sunday 19 February, a statement on her Instagram page confirmed

OnlyFans star Coconut Kitty has died after taking her own life, a statement on her Instagram page has confirmed.

Coconut Kitty, whose real name was Diana Deets, died on Sunday 19 February, with a message addressed to her ‘lovers and fans’ describing her as someone with the ‘biggest heart’.

It said: “Last Sunday, Coconut took her own life. It’s unfair. Life isn’t fair.

“We wish you guys could get to know her the way her friends and family did. She was such a light to this world, truly, she was always glowing.”

Deets’ age was never confirmed, as the star would often say she was 24 - a number she had been giving for years.

The statement continued: “You could never slow that girl down. She was so hard-headed and strong, but also just so kind. With the biggest heart we have ever known. She was always trying to lift everyone up around her, she wanted everyone to win.

“She always took in animals that needed a home. She was the type of person who would drop everything to help you with your problems and would always be in your corner. She would go to war for you if anyone ever date try to hurt someone she loved.”

The message said Deets had a smile that could ‘light up a whole room’ and ‘turn your whole day around’, while her laugh was ‘contagious’.

“She loved to dance and sing, and just be herself,” it continued.

“She was always her true self with her family and friends. Her energy was so pure. And we wish so much that we could have taken some of the darkness that was weighing on her heart.

“She always felt so deeply, with her whole body, mind, and soul. She loved creating. She loved to make art and to express herself and we know a lot of you loved her too and she was always so grateful for you all.”

The Instagram post said that Deets - ‘a mom, a sister, a daughter, a best friend and a role model’ - had been ‘strong for so long’, adding: “You never truly know what someone is going through. Call them and tell them you love them. You never know how much time you'll have left with the people you love.

“We love you forever Coconut, rest easy beautiful.”

In a 2021 interview with Rolling Stone, Deets said she was ‘terrified’ of being recognised in public and valued her family’s privacy highly.

“I did get tired of people commenting on my looks when I was camming," she told the outlet.

Her Coconut Kitty alter-ego came about after she struggled to make a living as an artist.

“At that point, I was like, 'How can I make money off my art?' and that's how I decided to do digital art,” Deets said.

“And that's how I created Coconut Kitty.”

More recently, the star became the subject of controversy when she was accused of ‘pedo-baiting’, with people claiming she edited photos to make herself look more childlike.

She added: “I wanted to make something that looked like a real-life anime character - small chin, big eyes - that was made in my likeness, because I use a picture of myself and I edit it.

“I just wanted to create a fantasy, just a character. And I was able to hide my identity and still make money off my art.

“Coconut Kitty gave me an opportunity to disassociate myself.”
