Have you ever taken up a job just because of the perks? Well, one man from Nashville did just that and believes it was totally worth it.

Davis Perrigo decided to become the ultimate Swiftie by taking up the role of security guard just so he could see his beloved pop icon, Taylor Swift. A video of Perrigo went viral online when he was caught singing along to Taylor's I Knew You Were Trouble when the star played the hit during her Eras tour.

Following the viral video, Perrigo was interviewed by News Channel 5 Nashville where he confessed to the reporter that he only took the job so that he could watch Swift perform live.

For his day job, Perrigo works as a full-time accountant and, when the Swiftie was unable to get tickets to see his idol perform in his hometown, he knew he had to take drastic measures. He decided to take up a job as a security guard at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, giving him the opportunity to see the event for free and even get paid for it.

Davis was caught on film by multiple Swifties.

Tiktoker, Ryan Bailey posted the famous video of Davis Perrigo on May 8, and it's since been a hit with Taylor Swift fans and non-fans alike.

"I showed someone at work, like, 'Hey, this video got 10,000 views,' and then by that night, it was over one million. I was like, 'OMG, this is out of control'" Perrigo told the news outlet.

A number of fans in the audience had actually captured clips of Perrigo singing his heart out, with some even asking the Nashville man for his hand in marriage. However, Perrigo has politely declined, telling News Channel 5 Nashville that he is in fact happily married.

"My wife jokes that I sing Taylor Swift songs with such passion for someone who's never been broken up with," Perrigo said in jest.

Taylor Swift's Eras tour has already been a huge hit amongst fans, with event ticketing platform Ticketmaster having to cancel the general sale for tickets back in November 2022, due to the 'extraordinarily high demands.'

This resulted in a ticket lottery for the tour, which inspired a congressional hearing in January of this year where it was stated that Ticketmaster was becoming too dominant in the ticketing industry.

Perrigo got a slight telling off for his passionate singing and dance moves. He told the Nashville news outlet: "I actually got reprimanded by Taylor's security, saying that I was going too hard and that I needed to take it down a notch."

Despite Swift's team giving him a grilling, the audience members were fully on Perrigo's side and loved watching him enjoy himself.

"It really was a blessing that I didn't get tickets," said Perrigo.
