An ex-police officer has been sentenced to life in prison after shooting his girlfriend who belittled his penis size.

Jason 'Moose' Cunningham, a former cop with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, pleaded guilty to malice murder and possession of a firearm after killing his 37-year-old partner, Nicole Diane Harrington, as per WJBF.

The 48-year-old shot Harrington in the back of the head after she made insulting comments about the former cop's manhood in June 2020 in Augusta, according to a statement from the Augusta District Attorney’s Office.

Cunningham was having an affair with Harrington, who was married at the time.

“This was an extramarital affair in which the defendant was living a double life,” said District Attorney Jared T. Williams, as per WJBF.

After the murder, Cunningham went on the run, which lead to an eight-hour standoff with cops at Clarks Hill Lake before being arrested.

Earlier this week, the man was sentenced to 35 years to life in prison, as well as an additional five years for possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Cunningham left the force in 2018 when he tested positive for an illegal substance while on shift.

Harrington is survived by her three children.

Similarly, a jealous ex-husband was charged in November after he allegedly shot his ex-wife's new flame's penis off with a handgun.

According to news.com.au, the man reportedly laughed while relaying the horrifying incident to police.

Bunteurm Oonkaew had been drinking with his girlfriend before he headed to his former partner's home in Chumphon, Thailand.

He broke into the house and reportedly found his ex-wife's new boyfriend, Somchai Sakoolchai.

Bunteurm is accused to blasting him in the groin, which Bunteurm claims was an accident.

His ex-wife then called the police, and Bunteurm was later arrested and charged with attempted murder.

According to the outlet, he told officials: "I just came back from work and sat drinking alcohol in the room with my girlfriend before getting up and taking out the gun, which I keep in the cupboard.

"I walked past my ex-wife's house, so I stopped to talk with her, but I accidentally had the gun in my hand and pulled the trigger by mistake.

"The gun fired and hit the area between Somchai's legs, but I didn't mean to do that."

"I was shocked so I left quickly and put the gun back in the clothes rack as before and closed the door to the room until the police arrived."
