Leaked emails allege to show Fox News host Tucker Carlson asking Hunter Biden to write a college recommendation letter for his son.
News of the apparent request comes in contrast to scathing implications Carlson has previously made about Biden, with the presenter taking to social media to discuss ’emails that expose corruption’ and ‘missing documents’ in relation to the president’s son.
Earlier this year, Carlson even went as far as to falsely claim Biden watches child pornography.
In spite of this, the leaked emails from 2014 appear to show something of a friendship between Carlson and Biden, with one message from the Fox News presenter reading: ‘I can’t thank you enough for writing that letter to Georgetown on Buckley’s behalf’.
In the email, Carlson continued: ‘So nice of you. I know it’ll help. Hope you’re great and we can all get dinner soon.’
Biden responded: ‘Hey buddy, I need Buckley’s CV if you have one handy, thanks.’
The authenticity of the email exchange has not been verified, VICE News reports, adding that it was shared online by pro-Trump lawyer Lin Wood via Telegram after previously being posted on the site by David Clements, an election truther close to Wood.
Clements is said to have shared them from a post by a hidden Telegram account that goes by the letter ‘G.’
Prior to posting the screenshot, Wood wrote: ‘When I sue Tucker Carlson and Fox and take Old Tucker Boy’s sworn testimony upon cross-examination, I will be sure to ask him ALL about his “buddy-buddy” relationship of years with HUNTER BIDEN!!!’
Despite apparently receiving a letter of recommendation from Biden, Carlson’s son Buckley did not end up attending Georgetown University, and instead studied government and political science at the University of Virginia.
