A new video has emerged online in which Johnny Depp is showered with gifts from fans as he leaves court.
The actor was bombarded with flowers, gifts and cards as he exited the Virginia courtroom in which he is suing his ex-wife Amber Heard for $50m in a defamation lawsuit.
In the footage, Depp rolls down the window of his car to interact with fans, who quickly surround the vehicle.
In an Instagram clip posted by user JessVal Ortiz, Depp waves at fans and at one point is handed what appears to be a treasure chest.

Jess – who lives 20 minutes from the courthouse and also documented her journey to the venue – wrote over the footage: “I can’t believe he is allowed to receive all these gifts!” She captioned her post: “That. Was. Wild.”
Aside from receiving gifts, Depp shook his fans’ hands and didn’t seem fazed as they swarmed his car.
Depp is seeking millions from Heard over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed she wrote, which Depp alleges characterises him as a physically abusive spouse.
In the piece, titled I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change, Heard wrote: “Like many women, I had been harassed and sexually assaulted by the time I was of college age. But I kept quiet — I did not expect filing complaints to bring justice. And I didn’t see myself as a victim.”

She continued: “Then two years ago, I became a public figure representing domestic abuse, and I felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out."
Jess’s post was uploaded to Instagram five days ago, which means it was shared roughly half-way through Heard’s counter-argument last week.
Taking to the stand, Heard at one point testified that Depp was convinced she’d slept with Eddie Redmayne, who she co-starred with in 2015’s The Danish Girl, in which Heard played Ulla Paulson.

Heard said: “We get into an argument. He was accusing me of [sleeping with] Eddie Redmayne. He thought I was working with Billy Bob Thornton but I'd already worked with him a year earlier. He was very upset about him.”
Heard’s testimony was analysed by world-renowned body language expert Janine Driver, who alleged Heard presented signs indicative of deception.
During an appearance on Court TV, Driver noted that Heard ‘does a lot of start-stop sentences’, which she claimed is 'congruent with someone who is being deceptive'.
