Johnny Depp appears in Rihanna's Fenty fashion show after torrent of criticism

The Pirates of The Caribbean actor was invited to take part in the singer's long-awaited fashion show

Johnny Depp made an appearance at Rihanna's Fenty fashion show despite the torrent of criticism the pair received over it.

It was confirmed recently that the Pirates of The Caribbean star would be the first male celebrity to feature in the singer-turned-fashion and beauty guru's catwalk.

However, following the big reveal, Rihanna was slammed for giving the actor a platform following his defamation trial with ex-wife Amber Heard.

Depp recently won a huge court case against Heard over an article she wrote in the Washington Post, in which she claimed she was the victim of domestic abuse.

Though she did not name Depp in the piece, the 59-year-old claimed that it damaged his career and saw him lose millions.

He went on to win the trial, with a judge awarding him around $15 million in damages.

Heard was also awarded $2 million in compensatory damages.

Since then, Depp has enjoyed a number of opportunities, including going on tour with rock legend Jeff Beck and working on a new movie.

His latest appearance saw him take part in Rihanna's fashion show for her brand, Fenty.

Depp was seen walking through some dimly lit woods surrounded by dancers, as Outkast's tune 'So Fresh, So Clean' played over the top.

At the end of his walk, he then approached a tree, before resting against it.

Prior to his appearance, fans of Heard came out to share their disappointment at Rihanna for inviting Depp to take part.

One user said: "If she’s not dumping pig’s blood all over his head, I don’t know why she could possibly think this is a good idea. Very disgusting and embarrassing for her."

Another added: "Tell me again about how sexual assault allegations ruin mens lives?"

A third lashed out at Rihanna, commenting: "Is this the man you want representing your brand? Somebody who calls women ‘c*m-guzzlers’, promises ‘global humiliation’ against [his ex wife Amber Heard], and [who] actively attempted to ruin a woman's career?"

The show was a follow-up to Vol 3, which saw Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon, Gigi Hadid and Vanessa Hudgens involved.
