In a somewhat disturbing audio clip, Jeremy Renner can be heard moaning in agony in the 911 call after his snowplow accident.

The Marvel actor was involved in the accident on New Year's Day, leading to him being airlifted to hospital near Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

At the time, a spokesperson for the star told The Hollywood Reporter: "We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while ploughing snow earlier today.

"His family is with him, and he is receiving excellent care."

Before that, Renner was obviously in a lot of pain, with sources claiming that he was close to losing his life.

TMZ obtained the audio of the 911 call a neighbour made following the actor's horrifying accident.

In the call, the unnamed neighbour tells the emergency services to come 'immediately', while Renner can be heard moaning in agony in the background.

You can also hear the neighbour asking Renner to stay still while he talks to the emergency services.

The operator asks the neighbour the address, to which the man gets frustrated and says he had already told them.

The operator then asks for his phone number just in case they were disconnected, obviously a possibility with their remote location.

"Someone’s been run over by a snowcat, hurry," the neighbour says.

The operator responds: "Ok, tell me exactly what happened?"

A bit shocked by the situation, the man replies: "I don’t know - someone is in front of my house and he got run over by a snowcat. He’s been crushed.

"Phone paramedics, ambulance."

The operator reassures the man that help was on the way, with the terrifying moans from Renner being heard again in the background.

Following that, the man says: "Listen to me, you might want to get a lifeline out here immediately."

The operator asks the man to describe Renner's injuries, to which he explains there is problems with his right chest, upper torso and his ribs, while also mentioning a 'head wound'.

Hoping for help as soon as possible, the man asked an ETA for the paramedics to arrive.

The operator replies: "It’s hard to give an ETA just because of the snow on the mountain, I don’t know how quick they’re able to go."

To which the neighbour pleadingly responds: "His breaths are getting shorter, so please.

"He’s drifting off - stay awake."

Earlier this week, Renner left hospital and is now recovering at home.
