Donald Trump Jr has been the subject of mockery after he suggested that Hunter Biden was responsible for the Ukraine crisis.
Trump Jr made the bizarre claim amid rising tension at the Ukraine border and fears of a potential Russian invasion into the area, which Russia has denied.
The former president's son took to Twitter to share his viewpoint, and it wasn't long until it was widely mocked online.
In the tweet, shared on Monday, January 24, Trump Jr wrote, 'Will it ultimately be Hunter’s lucrative and shady AF business dealings in Ukraine that gets us into a war with Russia?'

People were quick to respond, with one user writing, 'Why yes…Russia often invades neighbouring countries because of their ties to Hunter Biden.' Another added, 'When my cholesterol numbers spiked recently, I blamed it on Hunter Biden, my doctor didn’t buy that either.'
Hunter Biden has been the subject of numerous accusations by Trump and his supporters in recent years, which ranged from his past struggles with drug and alcohol addiction, to his work with a Ukrainian energy company.
Many of these claims were considered to be unfounded and unsubstantiated.
Some Twitter users went on to say that Hunter Biden has become a scapegoat for the Trump family, with one user writing, 'Trump family playbook: when things start looking down for the family, bring Hunter back into the spotlight!'
While the Trumps seem content to bring Hunter Biden into political situations he has no involvement with, Donald Trump Sr doesn't seem very happy when his own children are investigated.

He has previously slammed the request for his daughter, Ivanka, to cooperate as part of a probe into the January 6 Capitol riots, while Eric, his middle son, was subpoenaed and testified in 2020.
The former president said that the effort to gather information was 'very unfair situation for my children. Very, very unfair'.
He added, 'It's a disgrace, what's going on, they're using these things to try and get people's minds off how incompetently our country is being run. And they don't care. They'll go after children.'

Trump continued to say his children have 'done a great job ... For them to have to go through all this stuff is a disgrace'.
The family has denied any wrongdoing, and continues to argue that the probe into the riots is politically motivated.
