A TikToker has shared six different health hacks that could help you live up to 13 years longer.

Doctor Anthony Youn from Detroit took to the platform to explain to followers the results of a new study, called 'Estimating impact of food choices on life expectancy: A modelling study.'

So prepare to cut down on the Maccies, stop salivating over that steak, and get ready to bring on the beans if you want to add on a few more extra years.

Check it out:

The first diet change in the list of six is to 'eat more fish, which contains healthy Omega 3 fat'.

Dr Youn went on to warn against the drinking of sugary drinks, 'such as Soda Pop', but to encourage the eating of other foods.

'Number four is to eat more nuts and seeds which are healthy sources of fat and protein,' the doctor said, while 'number three is to eat less red meat and processed meat like bacon and sausage'.

He added: 'Number two is to eat more legumes, like beans, peas and lentils. These are great sources of plant-based protein and fibre.

'And the number one change that potentially add years to your life is to eat more wholegrains like buckwheat, oatmeal, and brown rice. This is instead of refined grains, like white rice and white pasta.'

However, the doctor also took to countering the study by saying 'one major caveat' was how it didn't make a 'distinction between the quality of the meat that was eaten'.

'In the case of beef and fish especially, I do believe there's a difference between grass fed beef and wild caught fish versus conventional,' Dr Youn concluded.

The post has since amassed over a quarter of a million views and hundreds of comments, with many people sharing conflicting views about the potential diet changes. One said: 'I knew this vegan, organic and whole grain diet was going to pay off!'

Another wrote: 'I'm not trying to live in a capitalist hellscape longer bring on the processed foods.'

A third commented: 'How can I live shorter tho.'

Youn also took to the comments to make a series of other recommendations, from eating more fruit and veg to reducing one's dairy consumption. He also explained that some people don't react well to gluten, so advised that in order to eat wholegrains they could reduce wheat to help them 'feel healthier'.
