Woman convicted for decapitating her boyfriend ‘deserves to be happy’, lawyer says

Taylor Schabusiness was convicted of the horrific killing of Shad Thyrion, with the murder using a bread knife to dismember him.

A woman who was convicted of murdering and decapitating her boyfriend ‘deserves to be happy’, according to her lawyer.

Taylor Schabusiness has been dubbed the ‘Lady Dahmer’ due to the similarities between her crime and those of the notorious serial killer.

The Wisconsin mom was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole last week (September 26).

The trial has gained significant media attention due to the shocking nature of the crime, and the fact that Schabusiness attacked her own lawyer in court. You can watch the shocking footage below:

Schabusiness strangled her boyfriend Shad Thyrion, with the murder taking place back in February 2022.

The pair had been smoking meth together and had sex, with the 25-year-old telling police that she went ‘crazy’ during this, dismembering and decapitating her former lover.

The susupect was convicted of the shocking crime last week.

In light of her shocking crime, the Wisconsin resident was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Smiling and smirking as she was sentenced, Schabusiness received an additional seven-and-a-half-year sentence for mutilating Thyrion’s corpse as well as another three years for third-degree sexual assault.

Despite this, her lawyer Christopher T. Froelich insisted that the convicted murderer deserved to be happy.

Schabusiness attacked her previous lawyer in the courtroom.

Appearing at the September 26 sentencing, Froelich also told the court that Schabusiness should have the chance of parole one day.

“I really feel that this young lady should be given a chance at the possibility — not the probability — of getting out on extended supervision or parole some day after decades of work — therapy, counseling,” he said, with the lawyer now intending to appeal the decision.

In a later interview with Fox News Digital, Froelich revealed that he’d showed Schabusiness photos of herself prior to her meth addiction as part of the trial.

“You can see … what kind of person she was as a little kid, a teenybopper, a young lady kissing her baby, holding her brother as a kid,” he explained.

He explained the day he went through the pictures with Schabusiness was 'a happy day for her', adding: "I told her I was happy to see her smiling because [she] deserves to be happy.”

Froelich replaced Quinn Jolly, with the lawyer resigning after being attacked by the suspect in the courtroom.

During the February 14 altercation, Schabusiness lunged at the defence attorney and appeared to elbow him in the face.

Though the 25-year-old had been found fit to stand trial, legal fillings show she’d previously pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
