Capitol rioter Jenna Ryan has said that during her time in prison she was denied her 'basic human needs'.
Ryan was sentenced to 60 days in prison for a federal misdemeanor charge after joining the Capitol riots last January.
Ryan has now taken Twitter to describe her experience in prison, saying that her basic human needs were taken away.
Ryan seemed initially chipper to be free from prison in a video posted on February 20. 'I'm so excited to be free', she says, before explaining how she was serving time for a misdemeanor charge of 'picketing and parading'. Ryan then claims she was protesting for 'election integrity'.

It should be noted that the idea the 2020 election was stolen or conducted unfairly is completely unfounded.
Ryan continues to add that she's 'proud' to have joined the riots and to 'serve time in prison for standing up for my rights'.
Speaking about her prison experience, Ryan added she 'met really, really great people' and 'prayed everyday'.
However, after posting the video, she sent out a series of tweets that somewhat contradict the clip.
'Basic human needs like sunshine, recreation, phone calls, visits were denied for me for 60 days despite nine negative COVID tests,' she wrote. 'I was kept in Quarantine ... ONE ROOM with no access to commissary, phone, visits, recreation ... Also, the room was kept at 50 degrees', she added, while also comparing prison to a 'third world country'.

Ryan went on to claim she was kept in the 'cold chapel' to 'kill COVID' and that she 'had 2 paper thin blankets and short sleeve clothing'.
People were quick to respond to Ryan's Twitter thread, with one saying: 'Phones, visits, and recreation are NOT basic human needs. Basic needs are shelter, clothing and food. Your basic needs were met. You got the treatment you earned for yourself'.
Others shared these sentiments, noting: 'Wow, so consequences for actions is a recently learned concept for you....'
