You might have speculated about maps, guns and missions, but now it's time for some answers because the new trailer for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II is finally here.

The fact that a tweet announcing the new game became the most-liked Call of Duty tweet ever proves gamers are excited for the release of the upcoming Activision title, but until now there has been very few details for fans to sink their teeth into.

That all changed today, though, thanks to Infinity Ward‘s livestream revealing the trailer and the first real insight as to how the game will look for players.

Check it out below:

Set to launch on 28 October, Modern Warfare II was officially announced earlier this year, leaving fans with weeks to speculate over what the sequel to the 2019 shooter game might look like.

Publisher Activision Blizzard has set high hopes by declaring that it expects Modern Warfare 2 to be 'the most advanced experience in franchise history', and it has been confirmed that the game will feature a few of the franchise's fan-favourite characters, including Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley, Sergeant ‘Soap’ MacTavish, and Captain Price.

A post announcing the trailer release date explained: "Task Force 141 makes its massive return with a global squad of iconic veterans. These Operators include Captain John Price, Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley, John ‘Soap’ MacTavish, Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick and introducing Mexican Special Forces Colonel Alejandro Vargas."

Though the trailer offers up some new information, fans can expect to learn even more details about Modern Warfare II with a longer look at game play footage expected to drop as a 'world premiere of a gameplay level' during Summer Game Fest tomorrow (9 June).

Gamers have been unable to contain their excitement to find out new details about the upcoming game, with one fan commenting: "I’m so excited for Modern Warfare II you have no idea."

Another wrote: "Modern Warfare II is about to be such an amazing CoD. I can't wait to see everyone's reactions to it. The competitive scene hopefully pops off better than ever. Everything I've seen so far looks like this game is gonna be awesome."

Obviously, fans still do have a few months to wait before they're finally able to actually play the game for themselves, but hopefully the epic new trailer and all the secrets it has revealed will be enough to tie people over for now.
