An Amazon delivery driver has gone viral online after going above and beyond to drop off a package in the middle of an active police stand off.

The high-risk delivery went down last month when a SWAT team was called to a neighbourhood in North Carolina.

But, despite the obvious danger, this Amazon courier went about his business as usual and made sure that his package was delivered.

Take a look:

In the video, which has racked up almost seven million views on TikTok, a neighbour looks out her window to check out the tense police stand off, only to spot an Amazon delivery man strolling through the scene with a package in his hand.

"Amazon hard at work in the midst of a stand off. He's gonna deliver his package, I don't give a f**k," she laughed.

She also captioned the video: "When you're about your business... nothing will get in your [way.]"

Despite the countless squad cars parked on the street, and an obvious police presence in the area, the courier walks very casually through the scene in his blue Amazon vest.

He makes it impressively far before an officer finally stops him and takes the package off his hands to continue the delivery for him.

Now that's Amazon PRIME.

As if that wasn't wild enough, the nonchalant courier then gets out his phone and takes a photo of the scene, presumably to provide proof of delivery, and swaggers back to his delivery van cool as a cucumber.

It is understood that that delivery driver had casually walked in on a nearly 24-hour stand off between SWAT team members and an armed suspect that went down last month in Cary, North Carolina.

Reports from the time of the incident state that an armed man had barricaded himself inside an apartment block with his 11-year-old son in a hostage situation, according to ABC 11.

An Amazon spokesperson issued a statement to Fox TV that read: "We always prioritize the safety of the drivers delivering our packages and we regularly communicate with them that if they don’t feel safe, they shouldn’t deliver the package and instead reach out for immediate support."

UNILAD has approached Amazon for further comment.

Naturally, viewers couldn't believe that the courier had strutted so bravely through the potentially deadly scene, and took to the comments to discuss.

"When you got bills to pay you gotta do what you gotta do," one viewer pointed out.

"Delivered to police officer near your front door," joked a second

Others suggested that, when you're working for Jeff Bezos, you'll go the extra mile.

"More scared of Jeff Bezos than getting taken out," noted one person.

Another suggested that Amazon's new delivery slogan should be 'come rain, sleet, or stand off'.
