Adult Swim has cut ties with Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland.
Roiland had recently appeared in court on domestic violence charges that stemmed from allegations made in 2020.
Adult Swim distributes his iconic TV show based on a multiverse-jumping megalomaniac called Rick (who is voiced by Roiland) and his nephew sidekick Morty (also voiced by Roiland).
A statement has been released from Adult Swim/Cartoon Network/Boomerang svp communications Mairie Moore, who said they have now parted ways.
Roiland will no longer feature on Rick and Morty and he will be recast, according to Deadline.

NBC was the first to reveal the charges on January 13.
A criminal complaint was filed in May 2020 by the Orange County District Attorney.
Roiland pleaded not guilty to one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit.
There have reportedly been more than a dozen pre-trail hearings since the charges were filed.

Roiland’s lawyer, T. Edward Welbourn said in a statement earlier this month that coverage of the charges against Roiland has been 'inaccurate'.
“To be clear, not only is Justin innocent but we also have every expectation that this matter is on course to be dismissed once the district attorney’s office has completed its methodical review of the evidence," he said.
The alleged victim hasn't been named in the documents and NBC says it was a woman Roiland was dating at the time.
The 42-year-old was released on a $50,000 bond back in August 2020 and was arraigned in October 2020.

The order required Roiland to stay at least 100 feet away from the person he's been accused of assaulting.
The Rick and Morty co-creator was also told 'to turn in any firearms he owned or possessed'.
He's bound by these requirements until October 2023.
An official trial date for the case hasn't yet been set.

The 42-year-old is required to attend a scheduled hearing on April 27.
Deadline states Roiland could face up to seven years behind bars and 'hefty fines' if found guilty.
