Fans have been anticipating the film for months with Nick Kondo, the Lead Animator for Sony Imageworks, taking to social media to share his excitement.

He shared a post to Twitter with the caption: ‘‘First day on the job!’

This is how the animator announced that the sequel will be hitting the big screen in 2022.

In the exciting trailer we see Miles Morales meet Gwen Stacey after being apart for some time, and we also see Morales fight Spider-Man 2099, what more could you want?

However, it’s not the just the content of the trailer that has fans excited, but the caption too.

The trailer, posted to the official Sony Pictures Entertainment account is captioned: ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One)– First Look’.

Okay, so the Spider-Man and first-look part are no surprise, but ‘Part One’ certainly is, and fans are thrilled.

One fan commented: ‘The Spider-Verse is ever expanding, and let it never stop.’

While another said:

You know the story is going to be interesting when it’s a two-parter. Can’t wait for this!
