Scarlett Johansson reacted live on Saturday Night Live as her husband Colin Jost made outrageous jokes about their marriage.

SNL is certainly not afraid to push the boat out when it comes to risqué jokes, with Jost and Michael Che's joke swap seemingly having no boundaries.

The presenting duo wrote jokes for each other to read out during the 'Weekend Update', and the catch being that neither comedian had seen the jokes before delivering them on air.

It has become common practice over the years for Che to trick his co-presenter into telling controversial jokes about Johansson, and the Christmas edition of the show was no difference.

But this time, Johansson was in the studio to witness all the jokes first hand.

“I want to dedicate this next joke to my boo, Scarlett Johansson,” Jost began his first joke as the camera quickly shifted to Johansson seemingly in a green room with an obvious anxious expression.

"Hey boo. Y’all know Scarlett just celebrated her 40th birthday, which means I’m about to get up out of there," Jost added.

For SNL standards, this joke didn't seem to go down too badly with the Black Widow star, though she did look evidentially confused by the gaff amongst the laughter.

The next joke was certainly more outrageous as it focused on Jost and Johansson's son Cosmo, who they welcomed in 2021.

The joke stated that the reason the couple haven't shared any pictures of their son is because 'he black as hell', which garnered huge gasps from the audience.

Another joke involved an innuendo about Costco removing the roast beef sandwich from their menu, which left Johansson audibly saying 'oh my god' as she looked on in shock.

Earlier this year, Johansson said she 'blacked out' after Jost made a joke about her body on Saturday Night Live.

"ChatGPT has released a new voice assistant feature inspired by Scarlett Johansson’s AI character in Her," Jost said in the joke segment.

"Which I’ve never bothered to watch, because without that body, what’s the point of listening?"

The audience gasped in shock at this moment, with many seemingly believing the joke had gone too far.

Johansson later issued a response, admitting she 'blacked out' after hearing it on SNL.

Speaking on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the actor said: "That’s like a tame version if you guys have ever seen the jokes. As soon as they showed my picture, I - I actually don’t remember that segment. I fully blacked out."

She added: "It is brutal, I feel like every year it gets worse.

"We need to, like, go into witness protection that night. Like, I am absolutely terrified we’re gonna be like, targeted. It’s so bad."
