Man manages to lose his court case in just 26 seconds

The man was appearing on Judge Judy, but didn't last long when he inadvertently dug his own grave

If you were to go on Judge Judy, there are many ways things you can do to help your case.

What is probably a good idea is to not interrupt or interject, as you never know what implications your words could have, despite your intentions.

At least that's what one man found during his appearance on the popular courtroom reality show Judge Judy.

If nothing else, his appearance shows the value of keeping your mouth shut.

Perhaps if he had done that, it might have lasted for longer than 26 seconds.

The man had been on the show over allegedly snatching a purse from 18-year-old plaintiff Ginny Paradeza.

Ms Paradeza began her speech by listing the items which were in her purse at the time of the alleged theft.

These included $50 in cash, gift cards, a calculator, and an earpiece.

Ms Paradeza said: "There was fifty bucks. I had to replace all my ID cards, I had gift cards in there, my earpiece and a calculator-"

Ms Paradeza listed the items in her bag.

It was at this moment that the man would have done better keeping his mouth shut, but of course that is not what happened.

Instead, he spoke up to correct Ms Paradeza on the list of items in the bag.

He said: "There was no earpiece in there, ma'am."

Judge Judy could not contain her smile at the interruption, which begged the obvious question: if he hadn't snatched the purse, how would he be so familiar with its contents?

But it seems that the audience sitting in the studio managed to catch on to the gaffe before the men, with a ripple of laughter moving through the room.

Judge Judy can be seen joking to the bailiff to call them 'dumb and dumber.'

The man made the unwise decision of interrupting.

Needless to say, proceedings came to a very swift close following interjection. The pair were ordered to pay Ms Paradeza $500 in compensation.

The hilarious clip originally aired back in 2010, but has re-emerged after being posted online.

People took to the comments to share their thoughts on the moment.

One wrote: "He probably set a new world record for fastest court case."

A second posted: "The part where Judge Judy looks at her bailiff takes out every time."

A third added: "Snitched on himself…… How can you be this stupid."

Another asked the question everyone was thinking, writing: "If you didn’t steal it how you know what was in there?"
