Who you gonna call? That's right, Ghostbusters is making a return to our screens very soon.

The latest movie had its first teaser trailer drop on Wednesday (8 November). Watch it below:

The fourth film in the legendary franchise will continue the story of that told in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, rather than a reboot.

The next adventure in the Ghostbusters franchise, which is now known as Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, takes place in the beautiful setting of New York.

Finn Wolfhard and Mckenna Grace return to their roles as Egon's grandchildren, Trevor and Phoebe, in the hugely anticipated sequel, while Carrie Coon is back as Egon's daughter, Callie.

Once more Paul Rudd makes a comeback as Callie's love interest Gary Grooberson, with some of the original Ghostbusters cast featuring, much to many returning fans' excitement.

Bill Murray as Peter Venkman, Ernie Hudson as Winston Zeddemore and Dan Aykroyd playing the much-loved Raymond Stantz will all be reprising their roles.

That isn't all, as Annie Potts is back playing Janine Melnitz, with William Atherton back for the first time since the 1984 original movie as Walter Peck.

There are some new faces joining the party, as Eternals' Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Emily Alyn, and comedian James Acaster all set to join the cast.

The next Ghostbusters is written and directed Gil Kenan, who already had an eye on the fourth instalment before Ghostbusters: Afterlife released in 2021.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in 2022, Kenan said: "At the end of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, the Ecto-1 is driving into Manhattan, returning to its home. And before anyone ever heard the title Afterlife, we called it Rust City. Which would not have made sense to anyone until they saw the movie. The code name for the next movie is ‘Firehouse'.

"We’re writing as quickly as we can. We had the story before we finished Afterlife. We have been crafting this with as much care as it took to build Afterlife into a worthy sequel."

Kenan and co will be hoping the new Ghostbusters movie hits just like Afterlife, after the 2021 movie achieved a whopping 94 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

More importantly for its makers, Afterlife made $204 million gross worldwide.

The flick is set for release in March 2024.
