Good news everyone! Futurama is coming back to our screens with all-new episodes thanks to Hulu.
Yes, it’s really happening, Futurama is returning to our screens next year with 20 brand new episodes on Hulu, with several original cast members already confirmed to return.
Billy West and Katey Sagal will be reprising their roles as Fry and Leela, while fellow cast members Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr and David Herman are all confirmed to return.
There are some concerns that Bender’s voice actor John DiMaggio has not yet been announced as part of the returning cast, with Deadline reporting that the actor has been sharing the tweets of fans angry at the possibility that the role could be recast.
However, DiMaggio is said to be in negotiations with Hulu to bring back Bender so there is still plenty of time for him to make a return along with the rest of the cast members.

This will be the third run of the hugely popular animated comedy from Matt Groening and David X. Cohen, which initially had four successful seasons on Fox between 1999 and 2003 before being cancelled, with Groening previously complaining that the network did not properly support the show by continuously moving it around the schedule.
Fortunately, a series of straight-to-DVD films were successful and formed enough material for a fifth season before Futurama was revived properly for two more on Comedy Central, bringing the show to seven successful seasons and 140 episodes.
If anything Futurama has only grown in popularity as time has gone by, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Groening and Cohen are ‘thrilled’ to have another chance at working on the smash hit show.
‘It’s a true honour to announce the triumphant return of Futurama one more time before we get cancelled abruptly again’, Groening said.

Futurama‘s revival means Groening will have a trio of animated comedies airing at the same time, as The Simpsons continues to air on Fox and Disenchantment is streamed on Netflix.
The six-time Emmy award-winning show about a pizza delivery boy who freezes himself for 1,000 years and wakes up in the future is being produced by 20th Television Animation, who are sure Futurama can ‘pick up right where it left off’ and treat the fans to more of what they want.
It’s comforting to know that whatever comes in the future we’ll still have Zoidberg.
New episodes of Futurama are set to air on Hulu in 2023.
