People are excited for Netflix’s new vampire movie to drop next month, with its all-star cast set to bring viewers a ‘whole lot of fun’.

Day Shift is a brand new action-comedy starring Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco and Snoop Dogg, which comes from - as the trailer points out - the ‘guys who taught John Wick how to kick a**’.

Indeed, according to Netflix fan platform Tudum, the gnarly new flick is directed by first-time filmmaker J.J. Perry, who previously served as a stunt coordinator and second unit director on films from F9: The Fast Saga to Bloodshot to John Wick: Chapter 2.

And that’s not it, either, as it was also produced by John Wick director Chad Stahelski, and written by Tyler Tice and Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead, John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum), meaning things should be in good hands.

You can watch the trailer below (it contains some strong language):

The movie sees Foxx, Franco and Snoop Dogg team up to slay vampires as part of a worldwide union, with supporting cast also including Karla Souza, Meagan Good, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Oliver Masucci, Steve Howey, Scott Adkins, and Zion Broadnax.

A synopsis from Netflix says: “Jamie Foxx stars as a hard working blue collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income, hunting and killing vampires as part of an international Union of vampire hunters.”

Fans are already excited to see some vampire slaying from Foxx and co, with one tweeting after Netflix shared the trailer: “I am 100% in.”

Netflix also posted the trailer over on YouTube, where others were quick to compare the premise to other favourites.

“Feels like Blade crossed over with Zombieland and I dig it,” one said, adding: “Only 1 thing left for Jamie to say: ‘You give them a message from me. You tell them it's open season on all suckheads.’”

Another commented: “Literally went ‘wtf’ when he shot the lady then he said ‘hunting vampires’ and now I’m interested lol.”

Another said: "This looks funny and action packed at the same time!! Really waiting to watch this."
