David Walliams and Matt Lucas have been criticised for their ‘dated’ Billie Eilish sketch.

The Little Britain stars performed on BBC’s Comic Relief last night (Friday 18 March) where they imitated a host of music stars including Lewis Capaldi, Miley Cyrus, Adele and Post Malone.

But it was the Eilish sketch that attracted the most attention, with some viewers branding it ‘disgusting’.

You can see a clip of the sketch here:

The sketch saw Walliams don a green and black wig to appear as the 20-year-old singer. The character was being interviewed by Vernon Kay, and was sat cross legged on a sofa scrolling through her phone.

As Kay attempts to ask her how she feels to be the ‘youngest artist’ performing on a charity single, ‘Eilish’ blanks him and continues to stare at her phone - eventually she replies: “Can’t you see I’m on TikTok?”

After ignoring another question, Kay asks: “Do you want to do this another time?” Before she angrily replies: “Can’t you see I’m on Mumsnet?”

The pair begin to wrestle over her phone with Kay eventually taking it from her.

At this point, Matt Lucas comes in as Lewis Capaldi. Eilish isn’t impressed and asks: “Is he a competition winner?”

She then adds: “I did say no meet and greets.”

Viewers were left disappointed with the sketch, with some taking to social media to condemn the comedians.

One person wrote: “Really not enjoying David Walliams and Matt Lucas on Comic Relief. Not funny. If a woman did anything like this there would be uproar.

"That imitation of Billie Eilish was just disgusting. Might’ve been funny back in the day but not anymore. At least make the material up to date.”

Another wrote: “David Walliams (50 year old man), dresses up as Billie Eilish (20 year old young woman) . That is just a little bit of what you missed. It's really funny, apparently, to mock clever, creative women who dare to be a bit different.”

A third joked: “I’ve seen things you people wouldn't believe. Man-made horrors beyond the mind's comprehension. (David Walliams doing a Billie Eilish impression for a Comic Relief bit).”

Someone else asked: “Anyone else think Matt Lucas and David Walliams’ sketches are dated and totally not funny? Or is it just me?”
