After witnessing Tom Holland filming his action scenes for Spider-Man: No Way Home, co-star Zendaya has revealed why the superhero’s costume ‘stresses [her] out’.
Both Holland and Zendaya appeared on The Graham Norton Show last night, December 3, ahead of the release of No Way Home on December 15.
During the interview the guests got on to the topic of Spider-Man’s costume; a red and black bodysuit complete with matching hood.
Norton questioned whether the suit was ‘the same’ in the upcoming film as in 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, to which Holland confirmed it was despite his repeated efforts to have a zip be added to the costume. He explained: ‘Again, I asked for a zip and I didn’t get one.’
Though Holland’s main issue with the suit appears to be its restrictions in the bathroom, Zendaya took the opportunity to raise her own concerns about Spider-Man’s costume, explaining her issue is one she’s said ‘publicly before’ because she really thinks ‘we should do something about this’.
The Greatest Showman star went on to explain that she ‘always has this fear’ that Holland might throw up in the costume after ‘working really hard’ during a scene.
Making her concerns clear, she added: ‘How is he going to get it out?’
Though the question made audience members laugh, the actor made clear she was being serious as she described her fear as a ‘genuine concern’.
She continued: ‘Sometimes when I look at him I get a little scared because I’m like, what if you like… I don’t know, it just stresses me out.’
Thankfully, Holland doesn’t appear to have been faced with any vomit-related dilemmas as of yet – at least none that he was willing to discuss with Norton. Hopefully Zendaya’s fears will never become a reality, but on the off chance they do, at least she has proof that she warned us.
