The Tiger King Announces Engagement To New Man After Falling In Love In Prison

Joe Exotic has announced his engagement to John Graham after the pair met in prison

Joe Exotic has announced his engagement to new man after the pair met and fell in love in prison.

The Tiger King is currently serving a 21-year prison sentence and recently announced his engagement to John Graham on social media.

Exotic is also in the process of getting a divorce from his fifth husband, Dillon Passage, and will go ahead with his new nuptials once the divorce is final.

The letter written by Exotic noted: "Everyone, John Robert Graham and I are officially engaged and plan to marry as soon as my divorce is final.

"We were together over one year in prison and he is home now with our son. I have never met such an amazing man in my life. He treats me so well, you will love him..."

The news comes after Exotic and Passage parted ways last year. At the time, passage wrote of the couple's relationship: "In November of 2017 I met Joe who was there for me during a difficult time in my life. After just 9 short months he was arrested and, for the last two and a half years, we have been apart."

"I’ve always stood by his side and will continue to always love and support him", he continued.

The pair were reported to have met on a dating app, with Passage going on to become Exotic's fifth husband.

"I don’t feel obligated to explain to the world what occurs in my personal life and, despite Joe taking to social media to air every grievance, I don’t feel it’s the healthiest way to handle private matters between two people. I therefore don’t intend to post any more on this subject," Passage said, as per Metro.

Earlier this year, Exotic was re-sentenced by a federal judge, reducing his sentence from 22 to 21 years.

The re-sentencing comes after Exotic was convicted in January 2020 of two murder-to-hire counts of Big Cat Rescue CEO Carole Baskin, in addition to multiple wildlife violations.

Speaking to the federal judge who re-sentenced him, Exotic said: "Please don’t make me die in prison waiting for a chance to be free."

Baskin and her husband, Howard Baskin, were said to have attended the proceedings, with Baskin noting: "He continues to harbor intense feelings of ill will toward me".

The ruling to re-sentence Exotic came after a federal appeals court rules in 2020 that the term he was serving on should be shortened, as per The Guardian.
