Selena Gomez, the American singer and actress who most people know from Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place, has recently spoken out against the body shaming comments she has been receiving.

The 29-year-old singer took to her TikTok story to both call out and shut down the people who have been shaming her for her weight.

Introducing the clap back, Gomez starts off the video detailing the food she had ordered that day.

“So I be trying to stay skinny, but I went to Jack in the Box and I got four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings and a spicy chicken sandwich,” she relayed. “But honestly, I don’t care about my weight because people b**** about it anyway. ‘You’re too small.’ ‘You’re too big.’ ‘That doesn’t fit.’ ‘Meh meh meh.”

Fed up with the constant stream of judgement and criticism over her body, Gomez iconically ends the TikTok clip stating: “B****, I am perfect the way I am."

And in a totally unfazed tone she concludes with a simple yet mic-drop worthy: “Moral of the story? Bye.”

In a later TikTok captioned 'Y'all all be tens baby', the Spring Breakers star is seen mouthing along to a viral sound in a matching unbothered yet confident demeanour, "I'm a ten. Yeah, I am flawless."

Many of the singer's fans flocked to the comments in support of her body confidence even against the backdrop of body shaming.

"This energy all 2022 and forever," commented one TikTok user.

Another wrote: "Yesss queen!! Get those haters back to their place!"

"I'm loving this new confident era of hers," praised a third.

This isn't the first time Gomez has responded to internet trolls and hate comments about her body.

Back in 2019, she revealed some intimate details regarding her health and previous body shaming comments she's had to deal with on an episode of Giving Back Generation.

In the episode, she talked about her journey with lupus, an autoimmune disease, which she'd only publicly revealed just four years prior.

Due to the medication that her lupus requires, the Revelación singer has had to contend with constant weight fluctuations alongside high blood pressure and kidney problems.

Needless to say, Gomez's cool and collected manner in dealing with the recurring onslaught of body shaming comments serves as a mighty clap back to those seeking to embarrass, silence her or dismantle her confidence.
