BBC's Saturday Kitchen could typically be considered a safe, family-friendly show; however, viewers got more than they bargained for when Nigella Lawson conducted a segment this weekend.
I'm sure we've all been caught in that awkward situation where a usually entirely innocent TV show offers up some more explicit content at the exact moment your parents decide to enter the room, but you wouldn't expect Saturday Kitchen to be the source of such an issue.
Of course, it's not like people started tearing off their clothes on the programme – that really would be a bizarre turn of events – but the kitchen got a little bit hotter when Nigella set about instructing viewers on how to make a curry using bananas.
The celebrity chef is known for adding a little bit more sauce, in the figurative sense, to her instructional cooking segments, as well as making clear her enthusiasm for dishes with somewhat excessive descriptions, and there's no doubt she stayed true to herself on the cooking show this morning, February 5.

The chef explained how you can use banana skins to make her curry, admitting that while the floppy yellow peel wasn't 'totally visually appealing', there was 'something always so gratifying about using up every last scrap'.
Nigella then went on to describe the texture of the ingredients, saying: 'These just go so velvety and just swell and soften with the flavour of the curry sauce.'
The segment quickly resulted in people turning to Twitter to share their thoughts, with one user quoted by The Sun writing: 'Of course Nigella is on the telly showing us how to make a curry with a phallic fruit.'
Another viewer criticised the soundtrack chosen for the segment, joking that they'd had to mute the chef because their neighbours think they are 'watching 70s porn due to the music'.

Thankfully there were some viewers who were able to stay focused on the cooking aspect of Nigella's segment, though unfortunately her choice of banana skins as an ingredient didn't seem to go down well with many viewers, who were left asking 'surely that can’t be a thing?'
One responded, 'Banana skin curry...oh Nigella why?', while another wrote, simply: 'Yeah, that’s a no to banana skins thanks.'
Whether thanks to the recipe or the saucy instructions, at least Nigella's recipe received a lot of attention.
