Miley Cyrus's mom Tish reveals 'issues' in marriage after finding out new husband 'had relationship' with her daughter

Tish Cyrus has shared that she's having some 'issues' in her marriage to Dominic Purcell.

Tish, who is Miley Cyrus' mom, wed Dominic in August 2023 after a whirlwind romance with the actor.

She was previously married to Billy Ray Cyrus, but the celebrity pair announced their separation in April 2022.

Billy Ray has also remarried - tying the knot to singer Firerose (real name Johanna Rosie Hodge) in October 2023.

Tish and Billy Ray were known to have had a turbulent relationship over the course of their 30-year romance, and the mom-of-five has since faced hardships in her new marriage too.

In recent weeks, it was reported that Tish's youngest daughter Noah, 24, had a relationship with Dominic before her mother - something which Tish had apparently been aware of.

Dominic, 54, and Noah were supposedly 'friends with benefits', sources told PEOPLE.

Meanwhile Miley, arguably the most famous of the Cyrus family, had no idea about her sister's romance with her mom's new husband.

UNILAD approached Noah, Tish, Dominic and Miley’s reps for comment at the time of the initial reports.

Adding fuel to the fire, Noah was notably absent from Tish and Dominic's nuptials, along with her brother Braison.

Now Tish has opened up about some of marital issues she and Dominic have been experiencing.

Speaking on her Sorry We're Stoned podcast, the 56-year-old said: "I was so scared when I first met Dom, my husband, which was not that long ago. But it is crazy because I am a Taurus and he is an Aquarius, and every single thing I read said, 'Don’t even do it. It is the absolute worst pairing'."

She further noted that she will often 'take things personally', while Dominic is quite a 'blunt' person - something which doesn't always bode well for them.

They've been working through their problems, however.

"I just feel like instead now of me getting so offended, because I respect and love him, that we have conversations," Tish shared.

"And instead [of] getting so upset and heated about it, and me not taking it personally, just letting him have an opinion. I’ve never been good at that."

She continued to divulge: "These are definitely issues. But issues also, because I love him, that I’m dealing with."

Despite going through some struggles, the pair still seem to be very much in love.

Last month, Tish penned a gushing birthday tribute to her Prison Break star husband.

"Happy Birthday @dominicpurcell…. Getting to love and be loved by you is beyond anything I could ever imagine," she wrote on Instagram.

"You’ve taught me so much about myself over the past few years and I am forever grateful. I can’t wait to see where this next year takes us!!!! I have a feeling it’s going to be a wild one! I love you babe! Happy Birthday!!!!!!!"
