People blown away by sheer number of Hollywood celebrities in classic picture from 1980s

The star-studded picture that dates back decades has gone viral on social media

Most celebrities have an extremely hectic schedule, so getting a large number of stars in one room is pretty damn hard to do.

While difficult, it isn't impossible - as proven by Vogue in recent months.

For the prestige fashion magazine's March 2024 cover the publication managed to get a host of famous faces all in one room for a photoshoot.

Some celebrities in the cover image included Dua Lipa, Kaia Gerber, Ophrah Winfrey, Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham (to name a few).

In total there were more than 40 A-listers in the photo, so its understandable that people labeled the cover as 'legendary'.

But this wasn't the first time this kind of photo has been taken; a similar and even bigger one was done back in 1987 and the sheer magnitude of the number of Hollywood icons is very impressive.

While the photo is over 30 years old, it's been doing the rounds on social media as of late and has sent film fans into a frenzy.

It's believed all the actors were there for Paramount's 75th anniversary party in Los Angeles.

Sharing the snap on Twitter, one person challenged fellow social media users to name as many stars as they could, with one user believing they cracked it:

One very famous face front and center in the photo is Top Gun star Tom Cruise, who will have been just 24 years old at the time and still an up-and-coming actor.

Noting this, one person said of Cruise being in the picture: "Cracking up that Paramount stuck a 24 year old who had only been acting for 5 years in the dead center of their huge anniversary photoshoot that included some of the biggest stars to ever live they were taking a bet there and you know what it paid off."

Other huge stars people spotted include Robin Williams, Walter Matthau, Robert De Niro, Danny DeVito, The Breakfast Club's Molly Ringwald, Matthew Broderick, Rhea Perlman and Elizabeth Taylor, essentially making this the 1980s equivalent to the iconic 2014 Oscars selfie.

The now-viral photo has instilled a lot of nostalgia in film fans.

One person said: "So many talented stars!!! Oh man, I missed that Hollywood. Been watching movies < 2000. Nostalgia."

A second penned: "My god… such star power will never exist ever again. And we got to experience all of this."

"A spectacular glimpse from a golden age of film and television," added another.

Others branded the photograph as 'insane' and 'amazing' in light of there being so many Hollywood stars in such close proximity to one another.

Here's hoping Paramount do another photo for its 115th anniversary in 2027!
