Fans of Ludacris have been sharing their concern for the rapper after he posted a video of himself drinking water from a glacier.

A clip of the musician posted to TikTok shows him standing by a pool in Alaska, which gave the odd perspective that he was standing on a clifftop. Take a look:

After explaining that he had wanted to visit the glaciers in Alaska, Ludacris revealed why.

He said: "You know I got a bucket list, or as I like to call it a 'f*ck it list', I've never tasted fresh glacial water ever in my life, and this is a first."

The musician then carefully makes his way down to the water, breaking the strange illusion that he had been standing on a cliff, and filled a bottle from the pool.

After taking a sip, Ludacris shouted simply 'oh my god!' before running out of shot, and the video ended.

The clip was posted to TikTok with the caption: "Water so good it tastes like GOD made it. Well, because he did."

But many people in the comments were left a little concerned about the rapper's health after he took a sip of the water.

One wrote: "Pretty sure drinking water from a glacier is bad for your health", while another asked: "Is that standing water? shouldn't you boil it first or something?"

Another pointed out that glacier water can contain a lot of bacteria, writing: "Glacier water... has over a million bacteria that hasn't all been identified."

Meanwhile someone else wrote simply: "Glacier water is super dangerous."

Elsewhere on Twitter someone else posted the clip and wrote: "Has he not heard about all the crazy primeval worms and bacteria that defrost from those things?"

And it turns out that they are quite right to be concerned, as glacier water like any untreated water can contain a whole host of micro-organisms.

It might seem simple enough to just turn on a tap and get fresh drinking water but a huge amount of effort and infrastructure goes into making that water safe to drink.

Along with waste management, clean water is one of the frontline ways of preserving public health outside of hospitals.

As for glacier water, that has most definitely not gone through the process to be rendered safe to drink, and can contain all manner of nasties which are not fun to have in your body.

These include microorganisms such as microalgae and 'zombie viruses' that re-animate as the glaciers melt, as well as heavy chemicals such as mercury, cadmium, and zinc. Yikes.
