Police are investigating Kanye West and wife Bianca Censori over their x-rated Venice boat ride

A local prosecutor could decide to press charges

Police are now investigating Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori over their x-rated Venice boat ride.

The celebrity couple sparked controversy last week when they were spotted in - let's just say - a compromising position during their trip to the beautiful Italian city.

The pair hired out a vessel but clearly had a lot more in mind than just soaking in the sights and enjoying the ambiance of the romantic canals.

In the photos, West can be seen with exposed bare buttocks, while 28-year-old Censori knelt in front of him nestling her head in his lap.

Now, the 'Gold Digger' rapper and his wife have since been banned from the boat company, Venezia Turismo Motoscafi, for the rest of their lives.

The company said in a statement to Daily Mail Australia: "On board, the driver had to keep a lookout for traffic and did not see these obscenities.

"If this had happened, he would have immediately disembarked and reported the transgressors to those in authority.

"In addition, there was a third person on board the taxi, who accompanied Mr. and Mrs. West, who obstructed the captain's view to the stern in any case.

"We completely dissociate ourselves from such acts and behaviour.

"Mr. West and his wife will certainly no longer be welcome on board our company's boats."

And that's not the only repercussion the duo could face following their little stunt.

MailOnline has since revealed that local police have identified the driver of the canal boat they were on and is now expected to be questioned in the upcoming days about the incident and exactly what he saw.

The pair have been slammed for their 'lack of respect' to the Italian city.

A Venice police source told the Daily Mail: "There are standards of public decorum that have to be followed by tourists and locals alike and any breaches are severely punished.

"The images of West with his trousers down while in a taxi as he and his partner crossed the lagoon were seen all over the globe."

The police source continued: "You could clearly see his trousers were half down and we have received complaints from people who witnessed it. Now we have identified the driver of the boat and we will be asking him what he saw as well.

"The images show the couple clearly in a state of intimacy and if the local prosecutor decides to press charges then we will notify the couple, most probably through the relevant Embassies.

"The offence being investigated is acts contrary to public decency which is punishable by an administrative sanction."

And it's not just the police who are outraged as Venetian officials have also weighed in on the situation.

Councillor for public security in Venice, Elisabetta Pesce, told MailOnline: "Without any shadow of doubt what we saw from the couple was a lack of respect for Venice, which is the most enchanting city in the world."

The 'Stronger' hit-maker and Censori got hitched at the start of the year during a private ceremony.

They hadn't been dating for very long before they said 'I do', however Ye knew the young Australian woman through her work as the 'head of architecture' on his Yeezy brand.

UNILAD has reached out to both Kanye West's representatives and the Venice Police Department for comment.
