The actor also handed over some essential items and food to the wheelchair-bound man.

Jennifer Garner has been seen giving her own shoes to a barefoot homeless man.

The actor was in a carpark at Santa Monica Beach, California, when she came across the man.

He was dressed in a green t-shirt and was in a wheelchair.

The 51-year-old handed over a bag that contained essential items and then she noticed he wasn't wearing any shoes.

Pictures obtained by Page Six shows her untying her shoes and taking off her socks to give to the stranger.

However, she discovered that they were too small for the homeless man.

In a rare turn of events, the paparazzi photographer asked what size the rough sleeper was and he revealed he was a 10.5.

“Oh, I’m 11! Want me to give it to him? I can give it to him,” the photographer said.

He refused to let Garner pay for the shoes and also gave him a blanket that was in his car.

Garner has been a huge advocate for helping people in need.

She's had a partnership with Save the Children for more than a decade and she says growing up in West Virginia exposed her to how rough some people have it.

"While I did not grow up poor I was surrounded by it and I always said I was a generation and a holler removed from rural poverty," she told Southern Living.

"And I went looking and ended up with Save the Children. Because they are definitely the leaders in helping kids in rural America.”
