Billy Ray Cyrus claims wife tried to 'isolate' him by blocking communication with one specific child

Billy Ray Cyrus claims wife tried to 'isolate' him by blocking communication with one specific child

Billy Ray Cyrus' estranged wife Firerose reportedly tried to cause a wedge between him and his family

Billy Ray Cyrus has accused his wife of 'isolating' him from one of his daughters in particular.

In recent weeks, the 'Old Town Road' singer filed for divorce from Firerose after less than a year of marriage.

They tied the knot in October 2023.

Cyrus cited irreconcilable differences in the marriage, as well as 'inappropriate marital conduct' as the reason for their split.

The 62-year-old is also said to be seeking out an annulment of their short-lived marriage on the grounds of fraud.

Now more information about the breakdown of their marriage has been revealed, with Cyrus accusing Firerose - real name Johanna Rosie Hodges - of 'isolating' him from his family.

The supplement supplying such information was added by Cyrus on Monday (June 17) to go with his initial May 23 filing.

In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Cyrus reportedly 'discovered that the Defendant [Firerose], unknowingly to Plaintiff [Cyrus], blocked at least one (1) of his daughters from being able to contact him on his phone(s) or electronic devices'.

Cyrus has two biological daughters, Grammy Award-winning singer Miley Cyrus, 31, and 24-year-old Noah Cyrus, whom he shared with ex wife Tish Cyrus.

He also adopted Tish's daughter Brandi, 37, from a previous relationship over the course of their 29-year marriage.

The court documents did not reveal which of his daughter's Firerose reportedly tried to separate him from.

As well as filing for divorce, Cyrus has also requested a temporary restraining order against his estranged wife.

He accused the 36-year-old of 'unauthorized' use of his credit card totalling almost $100,000.

Firerose's attorneys have denied this, however.

"To claim Wife has made 37 unauthorized charges is untrue," they said in response.

"Throughout the divorce proceedings, the parties are to live as per the status quo during the marriage. Wife was simply living as she has since October 10, 2023, and Husband has no right to cut her off."

Elsewhere Firerose - who is 27 years her husband's junior - has alleged that Cyrus filed for divorce the day before she was set to undergo a preventative double mastectomy, according to her filing. She was diagnosed as a carrier of the BRCA1 gene mutation in 2020.

Firerose has also accused him of 'extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse'.

"Wife was the victim of extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse," the Australian-born singer's attorneys wrote.

"Wife was subjected to Husband’s persistent drug use accompanied with the consumption of marijuana which made Husband unpredictable and volatile towards Wife."

UNILAD has contacted Cyrus' and Firerose's reps for comment.
