James Corden has revealed his brilliant response to a hacker who threatened to hold his Twitter account ransom.

The Late Late Show host claimed that his 'Twitter got hacked over the summer' and that he was sent a somewhat threatening WhatsApp message.

The 44-year-old explained: "I got this message from someone who works at Twitter saying there's been sensitive information on your account.

"I hadn't posted in a year, so I was like, 'OK, I should probably look at that.'"

Corden was then asked to fill out a form online.

He checked the form out and thought everything seemed legit.

Corden said: "So I go sure, put my information in, and then bang, gone.

"Then I got a WhatsApp message from somebody saying, 'I've frozen your Twitter.

"You can buy your account back for $1,000'."

Corden then brilliantly responded with: "'Bro, you can keep it'."

As expected, social media users were quick to comment, with one person writing: "How do we know if this is the hacked account or not?"

While someone else questioned: "How do they know your number?"

Well, it was Corden's birthday a couple days ago (22 August) and he probably got one of the best gifts ever at Madison Square Garden.

Harry Styles, who was performing that night, surprised Corden with a 'Happy Birthday' sing-a-long.

As shown in the clip, the singer tells the screaming crowd: "There’s a friend of mine [and] tonight it’s his birthday.

"His name is James and I was wondering if you would please help me sing happy birthday to James."

The presenter was understandably buzzing with the surprise and shared a clip to Instagram, writing: "I can’t believe you did this H! It was the best part of my birthday. Thanks to everyone at MSG for joining in!"

One of his followers commented: "Aww so sweet! Happy birthday James."

Another joked: "Hope you got a better camera for your birthday."

A third person also pointed out: "Why is the quality of this video so bad?! Someone please buy James a new phone for his birthday."

While a fourth wrote: "I was in Pit and screamed happy birthday, I can’t believe you were there!!"

Someone else said: "Happy belated king James! We love you so much. Hope your birthday was filled with so much love."
