Al Pacino decided to switch things up with how he announced the Best Picture winner of this years Oscars.

Rather than announcing who were nominated for the award, he went straight to the winner of Oppenheimer.

Maybe they were short on time, because admittedly there were quite a few nominees this year.

So it looks like I'm going to have to have to do Pacino’s job for him.

The films that lost out to Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer were, The Holdovers, American Fiction, The Zone of Interest, Barbie, Poor Things, Past Lives, Anatomy of a Fall, Maestro and Killers of the Flower Moon.

While announcing the award it seemed Al Pacino was more concerned about not naming the wrong film as the winner, which is understandable to be honest.

But even announcing the winner, was just a touch odd.

As the actor opened the winning envelope, he said ‘my eyes see Oppenheimer, before pulling the card out completely and reaffirming that Nolan’s film had won.

Social media users were quick to comment about the bizarre behavior of Al Pacino but admitted it did make for a hilarious way to end the ceremony.

"I’m obsessed with the way Al Pacino announced Oppenheimer as Best Picture. couldn’t have been more chaotic or confusing lol," one user wrote.

"Al Pacino announced Best Picture like this was the first time he had ever heard of a film called Oppenheimer," a second added.

"Al Pacino gives the most anti-climactic oscar win ever lmaoo," another user commented.

"Did Al Pacino just not read any of the other movies… and was like to hell with it. The envelope says Oppenheimer!" another wrote.

"Did Al Pacino just mess up the biggest category of the evening???" a user asked.

Well, I guess it could have gone a lot worse... so there is that i suppose.

The Oscars were already a big night for the biopic focussing on Robert Oppenheimer and his role in the development of the atom bomb used in WW2.

Most notably, Christopher Nolan won his first Best Director Oscar, Robert Downey Jr. won his first Oscar for Best Supporting Actor and Cillian Murphy won his first Oscar for Best Actor.

Nolan’s film was the clear winner in this year’s Oscars, taking home a total of seven Oscars. The other three being for Best Original Score, Best Cinematography and Best Film Editing.

So even if they didn't get the best send off from Al Pacino, i reckon they will all get over it when they have their Oscars sitting on their mantle places.
