Adam Devine clarifies he is 'not Adam Levine'

Levine has made a lot of headlines recently, so Devine took the opportunity to highlight the all important letter that differentiates them

Adam Devine has taken the opportunity to clarify that he is not Adam Levine.

The Pitch Perfect actor may have a very similar name to the Maroon 5 singer, but he's keen to emphasise that he's a very different guy with a very different life.

Devine felt the need to highlight the distinction after Levine found himself at the middle of a scandal, with Instagram model Sumner Stroh claiming they had an affair, sharing screenshots of DMs allegedly sent by the singer.

Distancing himself from the headline-grabbing story, 38-year-old Devine shared a photo on Instagram of himself and his wife, actor Chloe Bridges.

Captioning the post, he said: "Just want to post this and say that my wife @chloebridges and I are doing great and going strong.

"I am not Adam Levine. He's a different guy and a worse singer.

"We are however naming our future baby Sumner."

Ouch. Brutal stuff from Levine's almost-namesake.

If that last line was lost on you, it was a reference to Sumner's claim that Levine asked if he could name his unborn child Sumner.

Levine has been married to Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo since 2014 and the couple share two children – Dusty Rose and Gio Grace.

The couple announced earlier this month that they have a third child on the way, and Sumner claimed that Levine wrote in a DM: "Ok serious question. I'm having another baby and if it's [a] boy I really wanna name it Sumner. You ok with that? DEAD serious."

Levine has since denied having an affair, but admitted crossing a line during a 'regrettable period' of his life.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday (20 September), the 43-year-old wrote: "A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air. I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner.

"I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life.

"In certain instances it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.

"My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naïve and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make," he added.

"I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it and we will get through it together."
