Owls Born Outside Office Window Keep Staring At People While They Work

After a trio of owls were born in a tree outside an LA office, the avian contingent have taken up residence on the windowsill and the people inside ‘Just. Can’t. Even’.

It seems the three birds are absolutely fascinated by the work of the puny humans, one of whom is Michael Lens, a UCLA Urban Planning Professor, who shared a photograph from inside his co-worker’s office.

Now, owls are an iconic symbol of wisdom as wise people know, so perhaps this little trio of birds are a good omen and a great source of inspiration to keep up the academic pursuit of knowledge for the professors…

Who are we kidding?

The animals, who are only a few weeks old, are so cute it would be almost impossible to avoid procrastination – and as Lens is already ‘strugglin’ with the jugglin’ according to his Twitter bio, it seems zero work is getting done today in that particular Los Angeles department.

Twitter reacted accordingly:

Jeremy Hoffman delivered this wise pun, when he replied:

I don’t blame you. Whoo could work under such conditions?!

After the tweet went viral across the Twitter globe, a user by the name of @shenmaxiu said:

It’ll be a hoot.

Someone else who, according to their handle is ‘Unapologetically Me’ added:

Owl agree to that.

Once the puns had slipped into the ‘distinctly average’ category of comedy, there was only time left for one thing. Admiring the cute newborns.

Others couldn’t decide whether the ‘sweet little critters’ were ‘adorable’ or hilarious.

Their little super interested faces would make me laugh daily if I had to see them. But also happy. It’s adorable.

On the other hand, some people are finding the trifecta quite creepy.

A little like this assortment of crazy pets:

Needless to say, a bunch of owls – referred to as a ‘parliament’, ‘stare’, ‘study’, or ‘wisdom’ of owls, in case you didn’t know – are a little less threatening for office fellows than an eight-foot crocodile.

But as far as the owls go, there’s one particular culprit who’s giving some Twitter observers the heebie jeebies. Can you spot which one?

Here he (or she) is:

This little guy does have something of the Grim Reaper about him. His hunch, if nothing else, is testament to his amazing owl anatomy.

Many questioned what it was about this particular office which had the owls and their unwavering gaze so enraptured.

They sent their questions out into the ether:

Someone had an idea:

Does this mean these wild owls owls are the office worker’s new best friends, if not their co-working pets?

More importantly, one clever observer asked the question any discerning owl fan would have noted.

Unless UCLA has welcomed an 11-year-old child prodigy onto their teaching staff, we doubt it somehow… Unless magic is afoot of course.

More curious creatures like this please:

What a hoot, guys.
